Kristen Filaski, Psy.D.
Clinical Director & Licensed Psychologist

About Me

Dr. Kristen Filaski earned her doctoral degree in Psychology from St. John's University where she developed a strong foundation in evidence-based, trauma-informed care. She is a licensed cognitive-behavioral therapist who uses a collaborative approach to teach clients the skills necessary to increase their social, emotional, and mental wellness. She is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), with advanced training in helping clients safely process trauma, regulate the nervous system, and restore a sense of stability and control using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

She specializes in the treatment of trauma including: developmental trauma; traumatic stress; anxiety; and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  As well as a focused specialization treating women in perimenopause and menopause who are struggling with emotional changes, anxiety, mood swings, or trauma symptoms that feel amplified during this hormonal transition.

Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each individual. She integrates scientifically supported treatments with a deep respect for the mind–body connection—particularly the ways hormonal changes can affect mood, anxiety, and emotional resilience.

"I believe healing happens when people feel understood, supported, and empowered with the right tools. My goal is to help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional balance." - Dr. Kristen Filaski
