Emotion Regulation Skills Group for Teens
Led by:  Jessica Hazan, B.A. & Supervised by Kristen Filaski, Psy.D.

Teenagers are dealing with enormous amounts of stress these days.  Between school pressure, family expectations, friendships, social media, sports, work, and trying to figure out who you are, it can sometimes feel like your brain never gets a break. A lot of teens are carrying stress, anxiety, frustration, sadness, or anger without always knowing how to handle those feelings.  Emotion regulation doesn’t mean ignoring feelings or “staying calm” all the time — it means noticing what we’re feeling, learning how stress affects us, and building tools to cope when emotions feel intense or overwhelming.

These group sessions are SKILLS-BASED ONLY, where we are teaching teens how to regulate their emotions using:
Deep Breathing Exercises
Mindfulness Exercises
Progressive Muscle Relaxation
Somatic Exercises
Visualization Exercises
Vagus Nerve Stimulation Techniques
Grounding Techniques
Mantras & Meditation
Stretching Exercises

We offer both Video Telehealth or In Person sessions
$50 per session.

Benefits

Anonymous & Low Pressure Telehealth
You can join at anytime and it does not require any direct participation.  Participants can keep their cameras off and just take in the skills being taught on their own.  We find this helps to take the direct pressure off, keep their process anonymous, and still give teens the emotion regulation skills they need.  It can be a great supplement to weekly therapy or be an alternative for busy teens who may not be ready to commit to weekly therapy.
